Evan Berglund, Chief Executive Officer

Berglund’s first experience with adult education and dynamic learning systems dates back to 1992, when he was brought in by the Upjohn Company to protect their investment in one of the very first interactive CME (Continued Medical Education) courses created. This commission set off a series of events that ultimately resulted in the formation of EduCel, the development of the Will-it-Fly?® DKTS technology, and the Willitfly.com web site. In addition to his pioneering experience in adult interactive learning tools, Berglund has extensive business experience, which includes running three different advertising agencies (two of them in Europe) and seats on several boards of directors.

Maria Gonzalez, VP, Content Development

Gonzalez came to EduCel with fourteen years of experience in biotech, which included scientific research, manufacturing processes and the building of business infrastructure. Her last job included setting up the foundation for a corporate university at Chiron Corporation (Novartis) in Emeryville. Her quality management expertise and science background, as a UC Berkeley graduate in molecular and cell biology, ensures a quality approach to content development at EduCel. Her extensive experience also includes seven years as an Institutional Review Board member, reviewing human clinical research studies for scientific validity and ethical considerations. In addition to managing researchers, writers and editors, Gonzalez also oversees several functions related to corporate communications at EduCel.
